The Rockers and the YMCA continue their work in the communities of Greater Clevelend

In 2009-10

The Cleveland Rockers and the YMCA continue their efforts to help build strong kids in the communities of Greater Cleveland. The YMCA and the Rockers has put on over 10 free events for Greater Cleveland youth.

These events were at 6 locations, in Bedford we put on 2 free youth camps and helped run multiple youth league games. At the YMCA Main Branch downtown we put on a free camp and a Pro Exhibition game the admission for the game was a can goods or a free will donation. The other YMCA's the Rockers put on free camps was Euclid, Hillcrest and Geauga.

Summer of 2009

Mike Brown then Head Coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers spent some time with the Rockers GM (Pierre Hall) explaining what a NBA player should look like and how the Rockers players performed this summer at his daily workouts (yes, some of the Rockers players workout with the CAVS). He gave soon strong opinion of some of our players however, he better prepared our GM in his player development process of Rockers players all of which are highly guarded trade secrets in the ranks of the NBA. “The advice was greatly appreciated” stated Pierre.

If someone out there have been sleeping under a rock and don't know who Mike Brown is or his success in Cleveland see a short bio below.

Mike Brown (born March 5, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio) is an American basketball coach. He is the head coach of the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Cleveland Cavaliers since June 2, 2005April 20, 2009, Brown was named NBA Coach of the Year after guiding the Cavaliers to a franchise best 66-16 record.. After learning the game under Gregg Popovich, Brown is widely regarded as a defensive specialist. He turned the Cavaliers into one of the top defensive teams in the NBA and guided them into the 2007 NBA Finals and the league best regular season record in 2008 and 2009.

2009-10 Rockers Season is Shortened

LOYAL FANS AND SPONSORS PLEASE NOTE: For the 2009-10 winter season no games will be played at CSU Woodling Gymnasium as agreed because of an unexpected heating and cooling system failure. We were surprised with a call from CSU facility Manager with the bad news and then he sent an official e-mail on December 14, around 3:30pm. Since this being six days before our home opener we were forced to abandon the idea of playing a full home and away schedule this season. The entire system will need to be replaced and/or upgraded. The construction started on December 14, and will last most of our winter season. The Rockers will play charitable touring games locally and abroad in communities during the 2009-10 season, until our home venue is complete. Check our schedule regularly for updates on re-scheduled community games and events, most will be admission free or your free-will donations.

Meet Our Lebron ( Air-Lebron )

Yes!! We also have our own Lebron, Lebron Massey he is a 6' 7" Superstar player for the Rockers. He has a 40" vertical and a 7'wingspan Air-Lebron will easily average 5 dunks a game and 5 blocks. A dangerous slasher to the basket and will always finish over someone with the dunk, his impressive all-around skill set and physical toughness make him the top NBA prospect in all of the Minor leagues. YOU MUST COME OUT TO SEE Air-Lebrons Fly.
